RAMONES "PLEASANT DREAMS"

ラモーンズの通算６作目の作品。

５作目はフィル・スペクターがプロデュースのEnd of The Century。

今作はフィルスペクターとのレコーディングに嫌気がさした後のアルバム。

ただEnd of The Centuryのポップさは残っている。

このアルバムの中では３曲目の「The KKK took my baby away」が

一番有名だろうか。

僕もこのアルバムではThe KKK took my baby awayと次曲の

「Don't go」が好き。

ラモーンズのことを知らずにこのアルバムを聞けば、

素晴らしいパワーポップバンドのアルバムだと思うでしょう。

それを裏付けるかのように、このアルバム作成時はJoey Ramoneは

ポップ・ミュージックにはまっていたそうな。

This is Ramone's 6th album.

The previous work is "End of the century" by Phil Spector.

The band members got tired of working with him, then they changed the producer.

However, you can tell Phis Spector's pop world remains in this album.

Track no.3, The KKK took my baby away, is a probably most well-known song

from this album.

I like this song and "Don't go" as well.

Imagine if you don't know the romones and listen to this, you would think this one is a great power pop album by a power pop band.

Indeed, Joey Ramone was into pop music back then.
