PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. "SECOND EDITION"

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD.を知ったのはThe Best Punk Album In The Worldという

コンピレーションアルバムに収録されていたDeath Discoという曲がきっかけ。

すごくダークだけれどダンサブルで印象に残っていた。

PIL(PUBLIC IMAGE LTD.の略）のボーカルはJOHN LYDON（セックスピストルズ時代の名前JOHNNY ROTTENの方がピンと来る方が多いかも）。

セックスピストルズと違った音楽性からはJOHN LYDONの音楽を追求したい純粋な

気持ちが伝わって来る。

PILの音楽を聴くとThe Raptureを思い出す。

このアルバムには、セックスピストルズからの系譜が

載っていて眺めていると面白い。

The first time I got to know PIL was through a compilation album

called "the best punk album in the world."

"Death Disco" was one of the most impressive song in that album with its darkness and danceable beat.

The main member of PIL is John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten.

Their music style is pretty different from Sex Pistols, which tells you 

John Lydon's pure spirit of inquiry toward music.

Whenever I listen to PIL, the sound of The Rapture comes into my head.

This album has a helpful history map of Sex Pistols to PIL.

このアルバムではDeath DiscoがSwan Lakeというタイトルに変更されていて、

編曲も少し異なる。

In this album, "Death Disco" is under the name of "Swan Lake."

Its sound is slightly different from Death Disco.
