The Jesus and Mary Chain "Psycho Candy"

名前はよく聞くけれど接点がなかったジーザス&メリーチェイン。

彼らのファーストアルバム「サイコキャンディー」がリリースされたのは

1985年。やわらかいメロディーとメタリックなディストーションが印象的。

咄嗟に感じたのは、アメリカのBeat Happeningの音。

偶然か、Beat Happeningの1stがリリースされたのも1985年。

Psycho Candy時のドラマーはプライマルスクリームのBobby Gillespie。

BobbyはVelvet's のMoe Tuckerのスタイルに影響を受けている。

I'd heard their name many times, but had no chance to listen to their songs.

Their first album "Psycho Candy" was released in 1985. Soft melodies and metallic distortion create its own style of music.

While listening to this , I was thinking of the U.S. band Beat Happening. 

 Coincidentally, Beat happening released their first album in 1985 as well.

When Psycho Candy was released, the drummer was Bobby Gillespie, who formed Primal Scream. Bobby's drum style got an influence from the Velvet Underground's Moe Tucker.

Similarities between The Jesus and Beat are its simplicity for sure.
